Most culverts, underpasses, conveyor tunnels and stormwater tanks are designed in accordance
with Highways Agency Standard BD12/01 which also encompasses durability requirements.

To undertake a design calculation we need the following information:

1. Live load
2. Dead load/depth of cover
3. Diameter or span
4. Design life
5. Environmental classification
6. Maintenance regime

For bolted plate structures of spans greater than 8m, the Kloppel-Glock method is used.
The same input data as above is required.
